The solution that I am looking for is for the Win7 laptop but I am testing on my Win10 laptop before I implement the fix. Now, to clearify, I am having the same exact issue on a Win7 Pro laptop. I've tried the Splitview program and I did not have much success with that either. Below is a copy of the settings in the rdp being used to remote into my desktop. From here, you can enter the server address, and it will automatically connect to the server full screen on all your monitors. Mstsc.exe /multimon in cmd without any success. First, click on the search icon in the Windows start bar and search for 'MSTSC/ MULTIMON.' This will start up the RDP client in a multi-monitor configuration. The RDP only opens in a sigle screen. I know that I can span using mstsc.exe /span in cmd but that is not the feature that I am looking for. Into my Win7 Pro desktop with the multimon feature it does not use both screens. On the other hand, my Win10 Pro machine is docked and has dual displays. As a programmer I find that having multiple monitors is pretty useful and definitely increases my productivity. However one thing has always been missing multimon. I can remote into my Windows 10 Professional laptop using the multimon feature and everything works properly. Remote Desktop is pretty cool technology the ability to connect to a remote machine so seamlessly that you sometimes forget that the machine is remote is pretty amazing.
